Stainless steel fasteners should be used when you need to install stainless, FRP, or aluminium support components. If you are working with stainless steel strut and fittings, normally you would use stainless fasteners too. However, they can also used with other materials designed for use in areas where there are strong corrosive elements present in the environment. Eg, you can use stainless fasteners to install an aluminium splice plate for example, and FRP ladder accessories normally come with them supplied.

Zinc plated products generally have a shiny, clean appearance, and are electroplated by being placed in a zinc solution bath and then a DC current is applied, which results in zinc evenly coating the steel. Hot dip galvanised products have a stronger and thicker zinc coating that is metallurgically bonded to the parent steel, and are more commonly used for external installations.
