Splice Plates

If you want to join 2 lengths of cable ladder together, all you need is a pair of splice plates. Splice plates come in standard, horizontal or vertical hinge type and are available for steel, aluminium and FRP cable ladder. It is handy to remember that splice components for steel Nema 1 cable ladder come with 2 pre inserted Hex Screws (HS820 type) for installation. In the case of steel Nema 2, 3, or 20C ladder, you'll need to use either 2 or 4 Splice Bolts and Nuts per splice plate which are available in both galvanised or stainless steel.

It is best to use stainless steel fasteners for installing splices onto Aluminium or FRP cable ladder, however, hot dip galvanised fasteners and accessories can be used with aluminium, and are very compatible in reducing Electrolytic reaction.

While we are on splice plates, EzyStrut has brought out a new Nema 1 Hanging Splice plate. This new component allows you to both hang and splice 2 lengths of Nema 1 Steel Cable Ladder together. Previously to hang and join 2 pieces of ladder you would have had to have used a trapeze and 2 splice plates. The hanging splice plate allows you to join 2 lengths of ladder and is installed with its supplied M8 Hex Screws, and can be hung with M10 threaded rod.

Always use splice plates in pairs.
